SafeStor Sheds are low maintenance, made to be weatherproof and long lasting. However to keep your shed or storage unit in pristine condition here are some simple maintenance guidelines to follow:
- The unit should be washed twice a year with warm soapy water, this should be increased to once a month if you live in an area where the air is harsher e.g. costal areas. Do not use a high pressure jet wash on your metal shed
- Door hinges should be greased on a regular basis and when they start to feel stiff
- Oil the locking mechanism before you start using your shed and on a regular basis following this
It is also important to prevent condensation in your outdoor storage unit, the SafeStor ventilation system helps with this, find out more about condensation prevention in your metal shed here.
It is also important to immediately touch up any paintwork that has been damaged. This should be done by using medium grade sand paper to sand the paint down to the the base of metal, applying a suitable rust inhibitor and applying touch up paint. To ensure the continuity of your warranty touch up paint must be purchased from SafeStor, please contact our customer service team for further information.
We offer replacement parts which may be covered as part of your warranty or at a charge depending on the nature of the damage.
